Geoff Robinson MFM

Geoff has had a varied career. He was a Managing Director within UBS Equity Research, leading their Global Fundamental Analytics franchise. During this time, he was #1, ranked 10x in the EMEA Institutional Investor Survey, he also built their Ed-Tech platform, the Research Academy. Before UBS, he was a material equity investor and LBO co-investor in two market exited training consultancies. Geoff has a passion for learning and is well-known for his ability to break down complex subject matter and distil it to an audience in a digestible and engaging manner.

Geoff is one of eight people globally to hold the Master of Financial Modelling designation. He also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a Chartered Financial Modelling and Valuation Analyst. Outside of work, Geoff is also a PADI Dive Instructor, addicted to vinyl and loves going to live gigs (shout out to BanquetRecords.com), and he holds NED positions with several start-ups around the globe.

1994-1999

After graduating with an Economics degree from Durham, Geoff joined Price Waterhouse (later PricewaterhouseCoopers) as a trainee Chartered Accountant. After qualifying in 1997, Geoff joined the Financial Training Company and embarked on his training career.

Company development and creating value
1999 to 2009

In 1999, Geoff joined four other ambitious instructors and formed CTG. CTG went on to becomes Europe's leading tailored Investment Banking training consultancy. Geoff became a partner in the business and was part of the senior management team that sold the business to a UK-listed PLC in 2006.

The LBO investor stint
2010 to 2015

Leaving CTG in 2009, together with four other partners, Geoff and his colleagues setup an entity with 7City Group and participated in its LBO deal. the ex-CTG team helped the group attain critical mass. 7city was sold to Fitch in 2013. Geoff was a material shareholder in this exit.

The UBS years
2015 to 2023

Geoff joined UBS's investment research business to setup Fundamental Analytics. This team very quickly rose to become the #1 ranked team in its category - a position it held for eight years (being ranked #1 ten times). Geoff was a Managing Director at UBS and a material risk taker.
